Young David may have been more of a pawn than the player. I’ve found automatic writing in his hand… a portent of his releasing Mr. Jennings from the secret room? His “story” indicates that. An Edwardian gentleman and lady. One seems to be a sentinel of protection. One of menace. But why. More crucially, why now?
I was wrong to see him as the villain. Again, I ask: on what else have I been wrong? And who else is pulling the strings?
